40s イギリス軍ヴィンテージキャンバス ドクターバッグIND_1753

This framed bag is made from original British military canvas dating from around the 1940s, carefully deconstructed and reconstructed by hand.

Featuring a wide-opening frame design similar to a traditional doctor bag or Gladstone bag, it offers excellent visibility and easy access to the contents. The corners are reinforced using the same canvas as the body for added durability and a consistent appearance.

The original canvas was sewn with natural-colored thread, so I chose to use the same color thread throughout the construction to preserve the character of the material.

The handles are made from Loano leather by Virgilio Conceria Artigiana of Italy. This vegetable-tanned leather is rich in oils and develops a deeper color and beautiful patina over time. At nearly 4mm thick, it is exceptionally strong and built to last.

The webbing connecting the body to the buckles is genuine British military cotton webbing. For the closure, I use genuine Cobra Buckles, known for their strength and reliability. The combination of vintage military canvas and modern hardware creates a piece that feels both classic and contemporary.

This bag is ideal for those who need generous carrying capacity or appreciate a bag that opens wide for easy access. It offers a clean, straightforward hand-carry style with no unnecessary details.
